Vacancy - Maintenance Officer Temporary Contract (Maternity Leave)

Founded in 1974, Tollcross Housing Association is managed by a voluntary Management Committee, which is supported by our Chief Executive, Leadership Team, Senior Management Team, and by our wider staff team of over 40 individuals working in Housing Services, Maintenance, Finance and Corporate Services. Together our staff provide a wide range of services to circa 2300 tenants within the communities of Tollcross, Carmyle, Lilybank and Newbank. In addition to providing factoring services to over 500 residential and commercial owners, we have recently set up a subsidiary to manage mid-market rented properties.
The post of Temporary Maintenance Officer has recently become available due to maternity leave. The post will be for a 12 month period and is based on a 35 hour working week.
We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic with the capacity to operate within an environment that is dynamic and committed to continuous improvement. The successful candidate should be capable of providing excellent customer focused service to our tenants and other customers. You should have experience of day to day repair and void remedial works with knowledge of life cycle costing, stock condition surveys & system management and budget control. You will also have a good working knowledge and understanding of all construction related Health and Safety legislation and be able to demonstrate efficient and effective project management skills.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working alongside the other Maintenance and Investment Team members, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of day to day repairs and void remedial works and in programming and planning of cyclical and capital investment works. You will also be competent in preparing reports to senior staff.
Applicants should be educated to HNC level or higher in a relevant discipline with a qualification in building/ construction or related activity.
