As well as providing high quality, affordable rented housing, we have for many years provided a factoring service to owners in the area. Our current aim is no different from the original founders of the Association and our focus is still on improving housing conditions and also providing support to the communities that we serve.
Our factoring service has been established to provide owners in the local communities with the ability to access low cost, high standard property management. The Association is registered as a property factor with the Scottish Government and our registration number is PF000261.
At present we act as factor to over 580 owners within our area of operation, including tenemental properties, four in a block properties and shop units. The services provided can vary depending on the property type and the requirements of the owners, but can include:
- Repairs to common areas
- Buildings insurance
- Landscape maintenance of common areas
- Stair cleaning
- Stair lighting within closes
- Group heating
All of our residential owners have been issued with a Written Statement of Services (WSoS), as required by the Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011, detailing our responsibilities to you as property factor. If you have not received or have misplaced your WSoS please contact a member of our Finance team who will be able to help you.
In addition to the WSoS, the way we will manage your property is detailed in our Factoring Policy. If you have any queries regarding the content of this policy please contact our Finance Director, Tom Hastings.
Your responsibilities as owner are outlined in your Title Deeds and your solicitor should have discussed these with you when you purchased your property. We do not hold copies of your Title Deeds, however you can purchase a copy by contacting the Registers of Scotland.
