Advice and Learning Centre

Our Advice and Learning Centre is based within our Community, to provide a safe and welcome space for all.  It runs regular events, such as the Community Food Project and Community Café, and also provides a range of free services to help with financial, employability, learning, social and wellbeing matters; to name just a few.

Working with key partners, the Centre provides a range of advice and learning opportunities.  Some of our regular events are detailed below.

Free computer & internet use (plus free computer classes) - Monday to Friday

From access to Universal Credit to taking advantage of online learning opportunities, our free computer and internet access can help boost the social, financial, and emotional wellbeing of our community.

We have 12 computers at our Learning Suite (supplied by our partner Glasgow Kelvin College) which are available for use and don’t worry if you are not confident about filling out forms online, we are here to help.

Would you like to learn how to use a computer? The Glasgow Kelvin College and Glasgow Life provide free Basic Computing Skills for people of all ages and ability in an informal and enjoyable atmosphere.

CV creation, job searches, and interview support, with Jobs & Business Glasgow provides employability support to all on the following days.

Welcome Space & Food Project - Monday to Friday

If you are struggling to buy food or to heat your home, the Centre is here to help you, these services are for everyone in the Community including those who work. Come in and talk to us and see if we can help. The Warm Space will provide a cuppa and biscuits, access to a TV, Wi-Fi, books, board games and more, and Tollcross Community Food Project can help with food bank support.

Credit Union - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Access to low cost loans, free life insurance, junior accounts, foreign currency, and Housing Benefit payments – the Credit Union Service is invaluable for its members. The service also supports the direct payment of Housing Benefit to the Association.

Money & Benefit Advice - Monday to Friday

Thinking all things financial wellbeing, the Centre runs a range of activities and support to help everyone to become and sustain financial stability.

You can take advantage of sessions run or make an appointment to talk about any financial difficulties you may be facing. We can provide practical support (such as form filling) for those who need a bit of extra help.

Welfare Rights Drop In - Wednesday 9.00am to 12.30pm

The service can provide a benefit check to ensure that you are receiving your correct entitlement to benefits. Whether you are unemployed, sick or disabled, on a low income or have never claimed before we can help you.

It can provide support with application completion and review, and support with challenging decisions and appeals.

Advice for young pople aged 16-24 with employability, bus passes, and much more, with Action for Children. Every second Tuesday.
