Rechargeable repairs relate to repairs where damage has been caused willfully or due to negligence (by members or visitors of the household). The cost of these repairs are covered by the tenant. Some examples of rechargeable repairs are:
- lost keys
- no access charge
- out of hours non-emergency call-outs
- forced entry for statutory repairs
- repairs relating to alternations carried out by the tenant.
This can also include common home faults, where a repair is requested but is not actually necessary.
- No heating or hot water? It can sometimes be resolved by a simple reset of the system or checking that everything is set correctly.
- No electricity? If your neighbours or street lose electricity too, the issue is likely to be with the supplier.
