If you’re near Tollcross Park why not drop in to the newly refurbished Winter Gardens for some free tea or coffee and a biscuit.
We will, along with Shettleston Housing Association, be opening the Winter Gardens on most Tuesday and Thursday (starting from 1 February) mornings between 10.00am and 12.00noon, as long as the weather is ok, to let everyone see the completed building.
If you’re in the area, why not drop by?
We will update our Facebook page to keep you up to date with when we will be open.
We look forward to seeing you.
Winter Gardens The 'glasshouse' was originally built in 1870 and gifted to Glasgow Corporation in 1898. The building was a 'hot-house' for plants and flowers. Unfortunately, the upkeep meant the closure of the building in 1986 with the re-open in 2000 for a short-time before clsoing again in 2011 (due to significant storm damage). After investment from the Scottish Town Centre Regeneration Fund, the Scottish Government's Place Fund and the Community Asset Fund, the Winter Gardens has been restored and now ready for visitors.
