Money & Benefit Advice 

We understand that there is so much information out there on benefits, budgeting, and bank accounts that is can be overwhelming to navigate through.  This is why we provide access to free and confidential services to help you get the right support to maximise your income and reduce debt.

Welfare Rights 

The service can provide a benefit check to ensure that you are receiving your correct entitlement to benefits. Whether you are unemployed, sick or disabled, on a low income or have never claimed before we can help you.  

It can provide support with application completion and review, and support with challenging decisions and appeals.

We also hold a drop-in service, where you don’t need an appointment but may be required to wait.

Monday Afternoons (1pm to 4.30pm) at our office (868 Tollcross Road)

Wednesday Mornings (9am to 12.30pm) at our Advice Centre (84 Braidfauld Street)

Every 2nd and 4th Friday (11.00am to 12.30pm) at St Joachims Church food bank (102 Inzievar Terrace, Carmyle)

Money Advice 

Working in partnership with Shettleston Housing Association, TSMAS (Tollcross & Shettleston Money Advice Service) provides a referral based service to our customers.  

The service can provide help with:

  • budgeting, access to bank accounts and accessing affordable credit.

  • to reduce debt and rent arrears, and support to negotiation with creditors.

  • benefit application completion assistance and help to get online.

  • help to reduce energy debt (gas and electricity)

  • home insurance advice – get the right cover at a reasonable price.

The Money Advice Service operates out of our Advice & Learning Centre (84 Braidfauld Stree).  You can make an appointment by contacting the Centre on 0141 764 1234 or advice@tollcrosscommunitytrust.org
